The Somerset County Health Department partnered with the Somerset County Board of Education and Lower Shore YMCA provides the Longfellows Whales Tales Program, a water safety program, to 4th grade students enrolled in the public schools. This curriculum consists of two hours of interactive classroom instructions and four 2 hour pool sessions for instructions in water safety skills. Dependent upon each individual student's skill level, basic swimming skills are taught as well.
Program Qualifications:
- Fourth grade student enrolled in Somerset County Public Schools
- Parental consent signed
