Program Highlights:
The goal of the Cardiovascular Disease risk reduction program is to reduce disease, disability, and death related to CVD by :
1) Promoting healthy lifestyle behavior among individuals by teaching self-management skills.
2) Detecting and controlling risk factors by collaborative efforts with local medical facilities.
3) Creating healthy, supportive environments in families, schools, faith based organizations, and businesses.
SOME-R-SET to Get Heart Smart program is an educational campaign to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke. The emphasis is on increasing physical activity and following a heart healthy diet. Walking programs are available which include incentives for participation. Some programs are offered for 8 weeks and include blood pressure screening.

Schedule and Location: Ongoing Indoor Walking- Mondays & Wednesdays 8:30 am-10:00 am and
Fridays 8:30 am-9:30 am
