Breast & Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP)

This program offers no cost breast and cervical cancer screenings to Somerset County residents. Clinical breast exams scheduled through the program are provided by your choice of participating clinicians in the privacy of their office along with a Pap test if medically indicated. Mammography can be performed the same day as exam if desired. Assistance with the medical care plan is provided through case management, linkage to any further care as needed and follow-up. Financial assistance is available through the Diagnosis and Treatment Fund Programs for those women requiring additional services.

Program Qualifications:
Somerset County resident Ages 40-64
Low income individuals, 250% or below of poverty level (call for guidelines)
Uninsured or have insurance with no screening benefits
No Medical Assistance or HMO insurance accepted

Private providers under contract with Somerset County Health Department's Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (call for list of providers).


Komen, Breast Screening Program 443-523-1760

This program assists with the medical care plan of Somerset County Residents by offering free breast screening through a clinical breast exam and mammogram. This program will also pay for surgical consults and ultrasounds if needed. The Somerset County Health Department will ensure that client's receive breast cancer education, screening, case management, and linkage to care for treatment as needed. Individuals will meet with the nurse case manager for a screening intake and then will be referred to one of our participating breast cancer screening providers for a mammogram. Client's will be linked to Diagnosis and Treatment Program by the nurse case manager if further treatment is needed.

Program Qualifications:
Somerset County Resident
Women below age 40
Low Income Individuals, 250% or below poverty level (call for guidelines)
Symptomatic or women at risk for breast cancer due to family history
