Substance Abuse Counseling & Treatment Programs

Our programs provide counseling for adolescents and adults in an outpatient settings. Listed are current services available under the Substance Abuse Program.
- Individual Counseling - Individual therapy for substance abuse is provided to all individuals to help address the specific concerns of each client, thus providing comprehensive treatment.
- Adult Group - Participants in the Somerset County Behavioral Health program receive weekly educational sessions, and bi-weekly individual counseling designed to help the individual become more aware of the effects of alcohol and drugs on the mind and body.
- Women's Group - It is designed solely for women with substance abuse problems. It provides and environment in which issues that are unique to women can be explored more deeply
- Intensive Outpatient Treatment - This program is designed to provide intensive treatment to chemically dependent clients. Individual weekly therapy is provided as well, to supplement the group sessions and to allow attention to be paid to the particular issues of each participant.
- Adolescent Treatment - This program is designed for clients between 12 and 18 years of age. The adolescent program provides weekly educational and therapeutic group sessions as well as weekly individual counseling.
- Family Counseling - This service includes private family counseling sessions as well as group education on family issues related to substance abuse.
- Relapse Support Group - These groups function as a way for individuals to receive support while, at the same time, lending support and encouragement to others who are also struggling to prevent relapse.
- Aftercare Program - This program provides aftercare treatment for six months as a follow-up treatment. Individuals in aftercare have first priority to reenter treatment if necessary.
- Social Drinkers Educational Classes - This educational program teaches the individual about the affects of alcohol abuse and dependence, however are not currently dependent themselves.
