Co-occurring treatment

Available for adult outpatient clients. there is an emphasis on exploring the relationship between addiciton and mental health and how interventions must address both diseases in order to maintain recovery. Psychiatric services are also available for clients who have not been able to engage in mental health treatment with a community provider. this group also provides specialized counseling for victims of trauma and abuse.


Limited English Proficiency (Spanish)

Outpatient services are available for adult clients. The outpatient program is delivered through a translator in conjunction with an addictions counselor. this program serves clients from all Lower Shore counties.


Medication Assisted Treatment (Suboxone)

Available for opiate dependent adult clients. The medication is prescribed by our psychiatris at no charge to the client. Clients must agree to engage and remain in treatment at the Somerset County Health Department at the appropriate level of care in order to participate in this program

Equine Assisted Therapy

Offered as an adjunct intervention through Green Gate Farm. This experiential program allows clients, through their interaction with horses, to recognize behaviors that interfere with their recovery and develop coping skills that support recovery.


Anger Management

This is a 12 session treatment program for adolescents and adults. This program is designed to teach clients how to recognize the signs of anger, appropriate expressions of anger and techniques to reduce anger. This program targets faulty thought processes and employs relaxation, cognitive and communication skills interventions.


Addiction Jail Program

Jail Substance Abuse Program (JSAP) offers outpatient level treatment to men and women incarcerated at the Somerset County Detention Center with a diagnosed addiction. This program educates the inmates on the disease of addiction and explores the changes they will need to make to achieve and maintain long term recovery. Additional emphasis is placed on anger managemtn and healthy relationships. This is a voluntary program.
